The Chopra Center for Wellbeing, located in beautiful Carlsbad, CA is the leading source for meditation, yoga, and the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda. Seekers from around the world come to experience our variety of programs in stress release, mind-body medicine, emotional healing, personal development and life transformation. Along with our programs, we have a healthy roster of services, products, and digital courses and teacher certifications to promote the spiritual journey.  The Marketing Copywriter will strategize, develop, and execute written content campaigns that acquire, convert, and retain customers across a variety of marketing channels. The Copywriter's duties include, but are not limited to, planning and producing content for website/landing pages, emails, content articles, digital course content, video scripts, eBooks, and social media. It's critical that the Copywriter write in different editorial voices, understanding why they work and how to switch between them, and to easily be able to slip "into the customer shoes" to produce messaging that resonates with our target audience.


  • Work closely with project leads and other writer resources to create and edit optimized content.
  • Compose impactful, on-brand messaging, including marketing and sales copy for various company goals, primarily consumer acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Content marketing writing/editing, as needed, in the health/wellness and personal development realm.
  • Participate in strategic development of messaging and tactics, with project leads.
  • Utilize available data to learn from and develop future campaign messaging and strategy.
  • Hold and own "company voice" and "voice of the consumer" across company's multiple divisions including: live events, digital programs, e-learning, personal development training/coaching, and social media. Material deliverables include but are not limited to: print, web, email, ecommerce, surveys, and social media content.
  • Conduct independent research in development of article or marketing copy as needed.
  • Accountable for quality and accuracy of all editorial, product, web, and sales/marketing communications.
  • Supervise/edit third party marketing copywriter work on overflow projects, as needed.
  • Supervise/edit cross-departmental third-party content writer work on new, entry level scripts or digital material, as needed.


  • Must be able to write, read, and speak clear and accurate English.
  • Excellent editing skills based on Chicago and AP style.
  • Ability to adapt to the writing voice of project piece.
  • Ability to adjust voices frequently, shifting from content voice to marketing/sales-driven voice and vice versa.
  • Understanding of digital marketing best practices, including but not limited to CAN-SPAM laws, trigger words, keyword integration, A/B testing, social media writing.
  • Bachelor's Degree minimum is required. Degrees in English, Literature, Journalism, Communications, or Marketing preferred.
  • Proven writing, communication, and grammatical excellence.
  • Projects are deadline-driven. Must have the ability to move quickly on content requests and execute within short deadlines.
  • Inspiring writer with the ability to define and follow a distinctive brand voice
  • Active contributor in group brainstorms who is comfortable expressing ideas and taking a stand
  • Capability to take the abstract and make it concrete
  • Expert organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, monitor, and self-manage workload
  • Natural problem-solver who can think quickly through unforeseen issues and stay calm amid changing deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Highly detail-oriented.
  • Outstanding computer skills, including solid knowledge of Microsoft Word.
  • Familiarity with meditation, health and wellness, and spiritual philosophy concepts preferred.
